Co-Op Birmingham University – Successful Handover
Bridgford Interiors Limited handed back this absolute gem of a convenience store to a new client — a challenging project involving the conversion of an existing tired convenience offer located in the heart of one of the University of Birmingham’s main buildings.
Working within an extremely tight timeframe, the team worked closely with university staff to minimise disruption to the students and the day-to-day running of this key facility .
The project involved a complete strip-out back to the building’s structure, including removal of all FF&E, ceilings, refrigeration, ambient unitary, cabling, ventilation and pipework, followed by a full fit-out completed in just 4 weeks and 4 days.
Works included:
• Full perimeter Perstop boarding
• New A/C and associated plant
• New refrigeration and plant
• New plumbing and ventilation systems
• New ambient unitary
• New ceilings throughout
• New electrical and lighting installation
• Introduction of 13 self check outs
• New security and CCTV systems
• New equipment within the newly constructed bakery offer
• Full refurbishment of the back-of-house area to create additional space.
A huge thank you to everyone involved. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with Co-op and collaborating with the University of Birmingham and their dedicated team on this fantastic project.
